wondering how

I started pulling in-line boards last year, and was wondering if there is some type of way to adjust them to get them to pull at the same angle. I noticed that one board would always lag further back than the other. They are both being pulled with identical rods, same reels, same line. Can somebody help me with this situation? Thanks.

Tuning planner boards is almost an art!!!! It takes a bit of time to figure out. Most of the time they can be fixed up by bending the screw eye where the main line connects ( assuming it's steel not plastic). The farther towards the rear you bend the eye the harder the board will pull (farther out). If the boards pulls to hard you can also try bending the eye down some instead of back. Placeing weights on the back end of the boards can also make a huge difference on how they run. My last set of wood boards had 3oz on each outside board on 1oz on the inside. Some boards will never run right. If your haveing real problems try measureing the distance in between the pieces of your boards it should be equal front and back or maybe a little wide at the front. I recently just bought a set (1st store bought set) of Otter Boards by Big Jon. They look like a little orange boat with a keel on it. They are with out a doubt one of the nicest set I've ever owned or fished with. They run far out to the sides without putting alot of stress on your planner mast.
Have fun with them

Just realized you were talking about inline boards. I gave up on them and went to a full sized boards long time ago. They take the rough water better and I've found you miss less fish with them. If you can't get your little ones going give the bigger ones a try.

As Soon as you get them tuned, then you try to run different lures on them, and they all pull at different angles. We run Church Tackle (Gary Roach) boards, and if we have the same type of lures on them, they run pretty true.
