If you want to target walleyes, in lets say 15-25 feet of water, do you usually use shallow running lures and add snap on weights or do you go with the deep running version of the lure.Example:Thundersticks which I have had good luck with or go with the Deep Thundersticks.(availbility aside)LOL I personally always go with the snap on weights but often wonder if the deep runners are the way to go. Thanks

Put both presentations out. The fish will tell you what they want.

In the past we have generally used lead core to get down deep, but last year at Bay de Noc we started using deep diving cranks with very good success. It sure is nice letting out 80-120 feet of line instead of 220. Deep Thundersticks, Rebels, Rogues, and Husky Jerks all worked pretty well for us. In April we are going to Erie and we plan to try these deep divers plus some Reef Runners. We will have a set of rods with lead core along with us also. Like Jules said, we will let the fish tell us what they want.
