Saw a clip under Best Quotes in the May 22nd issue of Newsweek that read: " In Minnesota, the visit of the president is important, but it takes second place to walleye." Gov. Jesse Ventura who snubbed the president to go fishing.... Great job Jesse!! Do it again when hunting season comes along, then he might get the message we are not the criminals! To bad PETA wasn't with him! Lets get Jesse on Walleye Central somehow. Thought you might like to know. JJ

Didn't you guys see dumb Jesse pumping himself up when he went to Washington, D.C. at the time of the China trade talks? He said, "When the Commander-in-Chief calls, you come."

That was in the last moments of the recently completed legislative session. Jesse left his post as governor to rub shoulders with important folk. He now has more vetoes over-ridden than any other governor in Minnestoa history.

Jesse is to government what paint-by-numbers is to art.

I don't think this is really what it seems. The Minnesota Governor's fishing opener is a tradition that the Governor must partake in or make more enemies than he ever could overcome. Jesse "the Joke" Ventura has never been a fisherman and has made no secret that fishing is stupid and he'd "rather go to disneyland than fish," but he goes out for the Governor's opener because it would be way to painful to do anything else, even meet with the president.

I didn't know that I was amoung so many political geniuses and policy analysts. I can understand that some would not like to get rebates on their taxes, and have their license plate costs dropped. Although, I can not understand how you can criticize a governor that can catch fish and has a spouse that loves to fish. DUH!!!!!!
