Water temperature is 37-38 degrees in the Detroit River. Word from the pros there prefishing is that no one is catching much. The fish aren't biting, maybe not even present. Anyone think the bite will suddenly turn on when the tournament begins Wednesday?

Somebody will put a program together to catch big fish. They always do.

I completely agree, they're always biting somewhere...

Ditto to the above. Out of 150 boats, someone will find some big fish and identify a program. Where are all the prognosticators now who were predicting an "early" spring? It'll take 30lbs every day to be in the running, but I'd bet half the field won't weigh limits on days 1 and 2.

Marc,
You are probably correct, and if they do then they will be very deserving of the victory. I agree with the original post, I will almost guarantee much smaller caches.

no doubt. some fish are present but not on the bite yet. the water is only 35-36 degrees. I caught a few this weekend, but worked hard for them. I did see a couple of 6's and one that went over 11 lbs. caught though. one group had a limit of eaters by noon on Sat., but they were the exception. Sat. evening when the wind let up a little, I marked a bunch of fish, ( caught four in an hour ), but most of the boats had left the river cuz of the heavy waves earlier. A couple of weeks ought to be better, but the wieghts in the tourney will average smaller than usual.

It's been awfully crowded out there lately. Too much so for my taste.
