My rivets came out and ranger sent me new seat and hardware. When drilling the holes how do I countersink, and is it necessary? Or can I just drill a smaill pilot hole, need 6 in all.

Whenever you put screws into gel-coat, you should use a countersink to keep the
gel-coat from cracking.

You can buy them at most hareware stores for the size screw you are using.

Also, do not drill too small a hole, that fiberglass is pretty tough. I installed hand rails on my Reata 1850 and even using the size drill Ranger said to use, it was hard to get the screws in.

On my Reata, I think you can drill a hole and install bolts with lock nuts and washers on them to make them stronger. You may want to check that out too.

They sent a screw with no bolts, not sure of name but will try it. If not good will do as you suggest. I will go and buy a countersink, will take one of screws with me to find right size.
