Whenever tying line directly to something, the best knots in my opinion are the palomar and improved clinch knots. Those knots should cover jigs, hooks (not snells), swivels, snaps, etc. For cranks, I tie the line to a snap and attach it to the crank. On all cranks, especially if they don't have a split ring. There are other methods for attaching cranks, like a king's sling, but the snap is the best IMO. Spinnerbaits might pose a difficulty for using the palomar knot, I'd suggest the improved clinch.

Hope this helps!

I agree with Eyez, Palomar works the best. I have used the not on long items like bottom bouncers all the time with no major problems, just a big loop, till you pull it out. Spinner baits are no problem either. But do use a snap without a swivel for crankbaits.

Try the Berkley knot. Just like an improved clinch knot only you make two passes through the eye then twist 5 times and bring the tag end back through. Quick, Easy and Strong.

Have a book (somewhere) on fishing knots. The polomar knot retained the highest line strength. Something like 98%. So that is the knot I use as often a possible. For cranks, the Rapala knot.
