I'm toying with the purchase of a new boat and I like my 1850 Crestliner Fishhawk but I'm considering the 2010 Raptor with a 150HP Verado. Any Raptor owners out there? I think this was a new model this year but I'm not sure of that. I like layout and the 17 degree deadrise would afford me more big water opportunities.

Bass and Walleye boats covered a version of the Raptor.

The only thing I didn't like was the bow livewell that was almost under the bow mounting pad. Nice graphics.

It looks like a very nice boat, but for that kind of money you can get a smooth riding Ranger 1850, 1860, or some other glass boat.

Fred...
I just talked to Jane @ Silver Lake Marine. They have a couple Raptors if you want to see one up close and personal. They also have sold one to a guy I know up on Oneida and she can get you in touch with him. I know the guy and pretty sure I could even get you a ride.
I know you have met and talked with Jane before, real laid back and not pushy so you won't get the high pressure sales push. My boat is up there now getting serviced, if you are available when I go to pick it up you are welcome to ride along and save some miles.

Thanks for the tip on Silver Lake Marine. I have a quote in hand from Olson Bros. and will be contacting Silver Lake in the near future. I'll call Jane and see if she can get me in contact with the guy from Oneida. Then if I decide to take the plunge I'll know if I can get a ride on his in advance. Let me know when you're going up, I'd like to ride along if I can. I'm just finishing a chimney rebuild though so this weekend is out.

I drove a Raptor at the dealer meeting last year. It had a 150 HP Optimax and the full windshiled. I believe it was the trolling edition.
Hole shot is incredible, handling was great. The only waves on the lake were from other boats, but it handled that well.
Crestliner took the input from several pro team members over the course of a few years and put it all into that boat. The 17 degree dead rise comes from the Tournament Series and the interiors came from the input. It is a perfect cross between the FishHawk and the TS.
If you can, get a ride in one, then decide for yourself.

Thanks for all the feedback. I'd give it very serious consideration except for the fact that I'd need to finance about 1/2 and the best rate I can find so far is 7.5% for 4 years. Last I checked my credit score was 850, and I don't think it has changed. It makes me think "no wonder the boating industry is hurting".
No way am I buying a boat on rates like that. Give me something under 5% and I'd probably take the plunge. Thought about a home equity loan but decided against that appraoch- too close to paying it off to step backwards.
