I recently looked at an old sparetire holder,on my floor in my garage and deceided to make a step out of it.I welded a 3inch rise and a flat plate to it,and installed some non slip tape to the foot plate.I was getting sick of launching the boat alone with the trolling motor, electric anchor, fishfinder in the way.Now i just step on the trailer frame and step on the step and im in-might make a handle to grab also.I looked around and found the prices on these to be ridiculos 2-400 dollar for a step or steps come on.I spent 30.00 total.http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll64/corvette744/trailerstep-3.jpg

Nice work. A friend of mine with a 16' rig was recently trying to help the "get in over the bow" problem with his setup, we ended-up re-locating his spare tire to lay horizontally on the trailer tongue, so he now uses that as a step-up from the tongue to the bow.

Great idea, and looks good. Yep, knowing how to weld is a big plus.
