: Trailer brake lines, steel vs poly hose

one of my winter projects is to do some upgrading to my single-axle drum brake system, especially to replace the flex hose that gets bent 120+ degrees with the swing tongue. Right now, there is a 24" long flex hose, from the actuator to the steel brake line buried within the rear section of the trailer tongue. I'm thinking about replacing the entire line, back to the axle "T", and using a single 1-piece hose like I see on a lot of new trailers, which will eliminate a few junctions along the way.
Those of you that have trailers which use hose all the way back (with no steel lines), do you notice any more "ka-lunk" than normal? I'm sure braided stainless lines would be nice, but I've yet to find "DOT" approved lines in the length I need.
Thanks, HRG

Hot runr guy-im thinking of doing the same thing,i have a small leak somewere and cant find it think its the line inside the frame.I will be running a fexible hose not stainless but the same without the sheath and dot approved. Its 3,000psi rated-and i think it will run right up to my actuator-or reverse lockout solenoid.http://www.tiedown.com/abline.html

Here's the source that made mine, they'll make any length you want, with whatever fittings you need.

So did you get the rubber or stainless line. How much was it and how long did you get.Do you have a reverse lockout solenoid-or run straight to the master.
