Just an FYI to all you fellas out there looking for small motors... I have been pondering a new kicker for my boat as an alternate to the smartcraft on my opti. Was looking around on Cabela's site and ran into this little gem of a deal. I bought a 9.9 prokicker on line, delivered to my door!!!!!!!! was the easiest thing in the world...i didn't even have to monkey around with a salesman for a second. If anyone is looking for a no hassel way of getting a small motor this is the slickest thing out there....I also looked else where on line and Cabela's is the only place that has them online that i could find.

There are a lot of small OB's for sale in the intenet. Just "google" the engine you want, and let the search engine find a dealer. That's how I found a carry-over Yammy T8.

Will they also send a repair tek to your door if you have any issues? Glad you are happy with your deal, Cabelas is a great place to buy but some items like this I'll just say no thank you. Happy with my no pressure dealer that has many times gone out of their way to keep me on the water.

I find it sad that the dealers are not allowed to sell online, but then they let Cabelas do it.

GM is also selling new cars online in CA. Sad, sad days ahead.

Soon the dealers will be out of business and then where will you take your boats & cars to be serviced???

I think the big companys forget that the small dealers are their backbone!

Keep it local!!! Spend your money locally.

Does your dealer drive to your door??
Not trying to start anything, but the Cabelas by us has a full service marine/boat repair center with techs that are certified to work on Opti's, Verado, and I'm sure a 9.9 kicker if need be.

Just saying.....

Some manufactures require the dealer to do a pre delivery inspection on a motor and both the customer and the dealer has to sign that it was done. Honda for example requires this and if they ship you a motor in a box there is no warrenty, whoever sold it would be liable and possibly loose their dealership.

Didn't know that, but not suprised they do. However most of us have a Merc dealer close by, not a Cabelas. Closest Cabelas to me in north central Pa is 4.5-5 hrs.

My dealer tek people have been on the phone with me on several occasions with on water issues including off hours, both from home and on private cell phones. I'm sure Cabelas can beat their price but never their service or personal touch.
