I have a new 1197,when I got the boat a month ago showed the depth with no problems at any speeds under 50mph,over it would go blank,now when I go more than 10mph it goes all over the place?any suggestions

I would check out the transducer installation. Not getting a smooth flow of water across it when moving is the most common problem with the issue you are having.

If the ducer got bumped, hit by something, wasn't tightened securely etc etc and it has moved ever so slightly that will be enough to create what your seeing now! You may not have even known if it got bumped or hit so logically the best choice is to look there first!

Where is the transducer at? If yours is a shoot thru hull I am curious to where that is?

it has a shoulder bolt,I added a washer and its good now

Some units can be affected by the surface conditions, i.e., glass-like vs waves. Generally, I seem to have the most accurate reading on a calm day. Wave action causes false readings.
