Dealer offered a good deal on 2002 'rude' 115. Since Bombadier has taken over, have they got all the problems fixed on the Fichet motor.
Dealer says most all problems fixed. Since they just have 2 year warranty, I wanted one that wouldn't have alot of problems after the 2 years. Savings upfront wouldn't cut it if there is a lot of problems later. How is the 2001 Fichet doing?
HAVE A 1999 115 FICHT AND ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE HAD IS OIL PUMP WENT OUT 600 DOLLARS WHAT A JOKE HAVE 3 YEAR WARRANTY AND BOMADIER WONT HONOR IT NEXT MOTOR I BUY WILL BE MERC AND I GREW UP WITH OMC IF ANY QUESTIONS E MAIL AT WYOCHEESEHEAD@aol.com
not sure about the 2002s but hear theres still lots of problems with the 2001 115s.

I just traded (took big loss $$) my 115 Ficht in December for a carbed Johnson. (carbed omc flawless)I had nothing but trouble for 2 years with the Ficht, I heard the newer ones are better .
It is the worst feeling paying a lot of hard earned money for a lot of trouble. I would not wish this on anyone. You might be rolling the dice, you might win or lose. If I where buying a new rig I would go with a tried and true motor.
my 2 cents
GOOD LUCK.............

Really can't comment on the 2002 but I do have a 1999 115 Fichet with all the upgrades to the engine. Mine has never missed a beat. Quick starting, quite, easy on oil, and fabulous gas usage.
I've read alot of other posts on WC speaking of problems they have had but I cannot complain about mine at all. Good luck in what ever you decide.

I have a 99 ficht with all the updates -- only problem I ever had was an o-ring seal leaking on the oil pump , I caught it when still under warranty.. Had no problems with dealer installing warranty pump. Otherwise flawless. Runs great-great gas mileage- idles smooth and trolls great.

I had a major problem with my 2000. After Bombardier took over they did however honor the warranty and fixed the problem. (ECU defective TWICE!) From what I hear Bombardier is an excellent company. Just how good of a deal is this guy giving you? Why is he giving you such a good deal? Watch out for "good deals", there is usually a reason for them. Good luck.
