I scratched my Bell and Carlson thumbhole stock on a nail in the deer stand this weekend, is there anyway to fix them? They are just surface scratchs, nothing deep.

You can sand them lightly if they are shallow, then repaint to match, or if deep, usea little Brownells Accu Glass, fill and sand, and repaint. Either one should take care of the problem.

Brownell's also sells a product called Alum-Hyde. It is a self-curing epoxy based paint used in gun re-finishing, very similar to Dura-Coat. It comes is a spray can and is available in several colors. You simply touch up your scratches and let it cure for a couple of days. I have used it on my rifles and it is a fantastic product. They also sell Aluml-Hyde II which stands up better to solvents (although this should not be a problem since the scratches are on the stock and not the barrel). Good luck - Stu
