Right now I have one pre-ordered at a local marina, but I see them plastered all over the internet on different sites. Wasnt sure if anyone else has been fortunate enough to get their hands on one yet. As of now my guy told me maybe within the next week

We have them on our website, and we have them on order, but none have been shipped to us yet.

Oh how nice it would be to be putting around getting clear images of the underwater world, but NO! Lowrance has found new ways to drag thier feet and keep us all in suspendid animation. Really when does it become enough with these people. We buy thier products try and try to stay loyal, and we get subpar products and terrible sevice. Just need to vent a little. Had high hopes of using S.S. before ice up. Dont know if that'll happen or not.

They are out but from what I gather the first batch is in short supply...to be expected, its all about supply and demand. Lot of discussion can be found here...

Cabela's has a few on hand as of today. The inventory is very limited after the pre-orders were filled.

Hey Bonez,

Bet you're chomping at the bit. If you get some spare time, post a pic of that SI transducer. I haven't really seen one yet. Wondering what the dimensions of it are.

FYI...... went to Cabela's in Hoffman Estates, Illinois and they had none. They didn't have a hard date as to when they would be receiving either.

Here you go 1625rebel. The exact dimensions of the ducer are 6.8" x 2"

Mamma Mia- that's a big transducer!!

No offense intended, but...Is it just me or does anyone else think that transducer looks more like a prototype than a finished product? The rows of nuts on the sheet metal backing, the raw metal edges- guess I expected something a little more finished-looking. Of course, how it looks is way less important than how it works...

True the ducer is a little on the big and awkward side, but the images are un-believable! This works as advertised and then some. I forgot to take my card to capture some of the images today as I was in such a big hurry to get it out on the water. Maybe next week-end. In a side by side comparison with an h-bird. I'd give the clear edge to lowrance. The picture just seems so much more crisp and well defind. I'm sure a lot of the bird owners on here will disagree, but all they'd have to do is take one look in person. Not tryin to dis on them guys either, how does it go? "the proof is in the pudding."

Is that bracket the optional brake away, or did it come with the ducer, thanks.

What speed produces the best images? The HB units you mist be moving pretty quick like 2.5-5mph to get any kind of decent side image. I would love to see one actually work at 1mph or under, any chance of that as you see it? I must aggree on the bracket looks liek somthing I would make in the shop. Glad to hear you like it.

Humminbird's SI works at slower speeds. I have gotten good results at .8-1 mph. You just need to slow the chart speed down to match the boat speed.

I would like to change out my in dash sonar with a HDS-5,
Will the Structurescan network all of my data including my sonar.
Will the unit be like a expansion port-1 unit and network all data.

Should i drill a holes in boat and mount the transducer low or mount it higher on my jack plate. I would like to know how fast you can go with it on before i install this big transducer.
Someone needs to upload some log files so we cam take a look.

This is the truth here. I've made some outstanding images going well under 1mph with my Hbird. I guess not everyone has heard?

Blue that is good news as I was told by 2 diffrent pros and 1 Wholesaler dist, that they just would not do it. I can see where it could be possible if the chart is clown down. Thanks for the heads up.

First off I'm not sure if this is the break away ducer plate. The only one I've seen though was on a testing video and it looked to be a composite plastic or so. And yes, the plate im my images are the origonal hardware. Granted I've only had one day to mess with this I would like to say between the speeds of 2-6mph gave me good images. Cant recall exact speeds, to busy gawking at the screen. As for ducer location just remeber where you put it and any way it can be knocked around by debris. Where I currently have mine installed I had no problems when got up to full speed. And it's only an inch or so above the lowest point on the boat.

Does the LSS-1 xducer do the Di and Si as well as the conventional 2D, or is it necessary to have both the new and skimmer xducers mounted for displaying the Di/2D overlay view?

Thembonez

you would need both
