View Full Version : Lund Boat
Hi Everyone
I noticed that Lund includes a trolling motor and fishfinder as standard equipment on the Pro V line. Does anybody know what models the standard Trolling motor or depth finder are. No mention of it in the catalog, just notes to contact dealer for more info.
Thanks

You spec it when ordering.

Burr answered the question.
Sorry to contribute to the hijacking of this thread...
But Ranger man, tell us... how did your addition answer the man's question?
Are you sure he could order a Ranger right now with the bankruptcy and litigation currently hanging fire?
I'd like to know and I'm sure others would, too.
I would imagine there is a simple answer to my question.
Hopefully a knowledgable Ranger person will help out here.

Atta boy T-Mac.
Thanks all...I find it eaiser to ignore the trolls....
The trolling motor and fishfinder are specified by the dealer when ordering. 95% of the time the dealer orders the cheapest available, mainly because they don't want to price the boat out of the range of anymore potential buyers than they have to. Also, it is much easier for the dealer to remove the cheap stuff and put what you want on it than to wire things up from scratch.
There isn't a dealer in the world that will let a boat sell slip through his fingers because the customer doesn't like a simple add-on. They will all gladly work with you, especially if the boat is on the lot.

The dealer does NOT get to choose what electronics come on the boat. Usually there are "packages" so for instance it may come with a certain graph and a certain trolling motor or they can go with a different package which is a nicer graph and bigger trolling motor for more money etc...etc... The dealer can order it without any electronics at all and purchase and install whaever they wish but most dealers don't like to do it this way unless they absolutely have to because they typically lose money on this situation.
Keep this in mind, Lund is owned by Brunswick, Motorguide is also owned by Brunswick, so hmmmm, I wonder what trolling motor is likely going to be supplied by the manufacturer? yes, Lund still offers Minn Kota, but not every model across the board. Also, Lowarnce is in terrible condition right now and may not make it until spring, Their shipments to dealers, wholesalers and manufacturers is sporadic at best. Sorry to drop this on you fellas, but "choices" are getting fewer and more expensive.

"Guest"... your post is pretty innacurate.
The dealer can still delete the standard electronics package and upgrade or delete individual parts of it...and/ or even rig part of, or all of the electronics after it gets to the delaer ..Or even to the customer ....if the customer wants to rig his own stuff.
I will agree that Lowrance is having some difficulties with their new supplier...especially with transducers.
But aren't you being a bit over dramatic there, too.
Go T-Mac!!!
keep em honest. Maybe they should register too.

Silly RangerGuy, the only glass that belongs in a boat is one that has whiskey in it. :smirk:
If fishability is an important criteria for ya, I'd suggest a Lund. I did, and have not been disappointed for even a short time. I might spend 2% of my boat time on plane, the other 98% of my time is spent fishing. Fishability is important to me.

When I bought my Lund. I told them I wanted a Lowrance and a Minn Kota trolling motor. There was not problem on doing a switch. The dealer should be willing to get you what you want so that he can hopefully have you come back for future business.
Just my thought.
