keepin the battery charged

don't use any electric trolling motor-
run a early 90's 6 horse Johnson and want to get it to charge the battery.

Problem:play CD player in boat all day and when its time to go battery won't turn over the 115hp

where can a guy find a unit to charge that battery from the 6 hp

You might want to just get a spare battery to run your CD player and buy a small charger for home to charge it up at the end of the day. Just a thought...

Your motor should charge the starting battery if the alternator is working. It sounds like either your alternator or battery is bad. You can check by putting a voltmeter on the starting battery while the motor is running. You should see the voltage go up.
