EPA Great Lakes Strategy 2002

Please support the EPA's plan to work with the state and local agencies to reduce the following :

sediment contamination
proliferation of non-native species
loss of habitat
production of fish unsafe for eating

Key goals are :

Reduce the PCBs in lake trout and walleye by 25%
Restore or enhance 100,000 acres of wetlands by 2010
Speed up the sediment clean up process

Enviromentalists with an anti-capitalist agenda will try to spin the EPA's plan as BAD for the Great Lakes .

Why would any environmentalist think this plan is bad? Sounds just fine to me.

Whenever you take sediment off the lake bottom you get people complaining about where it ends up.
