If anyone could post pictures of the location they mounted their Humminbird transducer with Side Imaging on a Ranger 620 or 621 it would be appreciated. I'm trying to see where the best place to locate and get the best performance for SI. Thanks. If you would rather email the pictures please send to: tim.j.ellis@gmail.com

I have seen them mounted on the step in trans in front of motor. You can mount bracket straight up to step with trans under it. It will be out of water when on plane, most guys use separate transducer when on plane. I mounted mine to bracket on motor instead of drilling holes in boat. It worked great. It was quick, it is on Yamaha and I flipped metal bracket around and dill hole in it.

I Fish,

I like your install and plan on doing it like this. I really like not drilling any holes in my glass boat. How is the performance trolling and side imaging with your install?

I just did an install on my 619 and the location works perfect for slow speed SI even with the OB trimed in. I was not worried about high speed as I already had a good unit for that. Not sure if our hulls are the same but this could help.

The performance trolling was good, I didn't have any interference from motor lower unit. When I went over 5mph it would get fuzzy. To help with this I was going to make longer bracket so it would be closer to flush with the bottom edge of step.
