Mount the transducer to your bow mount trolling motor, assuming you have one on your boat. If you have 2 transducers on your transom that are the same frequency, they will interfer in really shallow water. If you have 1 transducer on your bow and 1 on your transom you should be able to get to 25+ fow before they start to interfer. Hope this helps and good luck.

Lowrance and Humminbird both have mounts or adapters for their transducers, and there's a good one made by Rig Rite as well which is universal. Basically the transducer mount is attached to the trolling motor with a big hose clamps which fits around the lower unit, and the transducer cable is zip-tied to the top and bottom of the trolling motor shaft (you need to leave a little slack for turning, and stowing and deploying the motor). It works well.
