Will be making a trip to Osakis in several weeks,
taking my 9 yr old for the first time. Do kids
that age need a non-resident license?

I copied and pasted this from the MN DNR Page.

2000 Nonresident Fishing License Requirements and Fees

Nonresident License Requirements

All nonresidents age 16 and older are required to have an appropriate fishing license while
angling. Nonresidents under age 16 don't need a license if an accompanying parent or guardian is licensed. Children of an adult who has a Minnesota nonresident family license may possess their own limit of fish. However, if the adult has an individual license, the child's fish are included as part of the adult's limit. Nonresidents under age 16 may purchase a license and possess their own limit of fish.

You can get all of the regs at #####://www.dnr.state.mn.us/license_bureau/licenses.html
