Friend of mine just built a cabin on Whiteface Resevoir, he wants to have me up for a week this summer. I was just curious to see if anyone out there could give me a quick briefing. Like to see this guy catch some walleyes, make him feel better about the money he has spent. Thanks WCer's Fish ON

I have fished many times. We have a cabin in Toime which is just east of the resevoir. That lake is great for catching tons of perch and huge crappies. The biggest walleye I have ever caught was only 3 pounds.

Hey Flick what bait seems to work best around opener? I know the water is ore stained. Is the bottom pretty cluttered with logs and such? Just trying to get an idea about what to expect. thanks for any info.

I have never fished during opener. busy lake. It use to be very quite but then they fixed and paved the road. Now it is beyond busy. I usually fish it couple of weeks after opener. Spinner rigs with nightcrawlers worked very well. Never had much problem with snags. Also working the rocky areas with raps produced nice fish. Hope this helps.
