Does anyone know what map chip options are available to run on a 997? I have Navionics on my 798 and like the depth contours but not much else. I fish Michigan and the great lakes mostly. I know that Lake Master will be available soon but I hear the maps for the great lakes portion have minimal data. Any advice would be appreciated..

Having always used Lowrance until this fall I have really liked Lakemaster but I don't fish the GL yet...
I bought the new LM WI chip this year because of the detail coverage of a couple of pools on the Mississippi and have I have looked at the data for the Green bay area and that seems pretty detail though it may not be any good, only one way to find out.
For my money, when the software updated fro the 997 comes out I will be updating it and going with the LM WI chip.
I have a couple of Navionics chips for MN and Canada and on the lakes I have fished like LOTW and Lac Seul it has been way off on depth and more than once my boat was on dry land according to the map yet I was fishing in 20 feet of water.

I am happy with the Premium HotMaps 09 East
I fish MI and the Great Lakes as well.
