brown eyes

I booked several days off for the Month of October to fish my hearts out (Facebook's Post) with anybody who would go fishing with me. The first week I got only 4 walleyes with no masters. The pesky and voracious saugers were beating the walleyes to the bite and it feels like a pestilence catching them before my jig even hit bottom.
Yesterday, my dream came into fruition as I landed my 28 inch master. The icy cold weather was swept under the rug. It was pure ecstasy which could be better than...s...moking. . I marked that spot on my gps because I have to rush to Goodwrench to get my truck. This morning, I went out early with my new found buddy to my marked spot. I was so focused with my fishing that my sixth sense was on fire, reeling in fish after fish. Multiple species in just one spot.I am so happy too by catching 8 gold eyes. After just 15 minutes of settling, I got this monster 31 inch walleye which gave me a very tough fight because I was just using an 8 lb fluorocarbon on an ultra lite rod. We were catching lots of walleyes on that spot. Just to be prepared I switched to my 15lb braided line on my medium bait cast rod. I just used a pickerel rig and baited it a crawler minnow combo on each hook. I was just about to make a hot chocolate drink when my rod started dipping forward. I grabbed it in time. It went berserk when it realized it was hooked. My reel started screeching as it takes so much line. I surmised, this can not be a pike, or a catfish, this fish just pulls the line smoothly like a walleye. Man, this could be a world record walleye after 15 minutes of intense fight. When it relented, I instructed my buddy to be ready with the net. When it surfaced, it's a 45 inch sturgeon. This was indeed a welcomed surprise. It did not fit the net and I have to pull it by its tail.
I still have 8 more days off left before this month is over but I am sure the fire in me will melt any icy weather thrown at me.
