New to the world of walleye fishing.Do you use the same types of reels as you do for bass fishing? Anybody that has any sugestions on a good reel would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

It depends what you are using the reel for. If you are long-lining cranks or spinners, then sure, you can use your typical bass equipment. But for trolling boards, you will want to use line counters. Good luck and feel free to ask more questions!

For bottom bouncing with a baitcaster you would be better off with a flipping switch model. It allows you to let out more line to maintain bottom contact easier. If you're just casting with them it doesn't really matter. I've got a couple Diawa's that really work nice for me. I second the suggestion for line counters for trolling. ANY TROLLING. It makes it much easier to duplicate the line lengths you were using to catch fish the first time or change what wasn't working for you in the past. The Diawa SG27LC is the most preferred model by walleye afficionado's.
