hey guys first time ice fishing this year for eyes...il be fishing a large bay 5 to 10 fow with a deep channel near the edge of the bay. also has rock pile humps in the area of 10 fow. where would they be? and do they hang around those late summer weed beds that died off?

thanks!

your best odds would be to give it a go at dawn or dusk...with plenty of night fishing. they are generally most active during low light conditions. with that said i would start my search on those rock humps and the breaking edges off the humps as daylight progresses. also dont overlook any weedbed edges. it would be very beneficial if ya some waypoints saved on a gps from open water. how big of rock humps is there?

thats the ticket. are these large humps in size...like football field size or car size? either way look for them looking for food on top of these humps at active periods of low light and dark and work the edges and flats during daylight. i would run and gun em and would help to be ready for the twilight and night bite by already having lots of holes pre drilled on top of these humps...stealth mode. to help in the search also setup tip ups.
