They need it have one for fiberglass in the hull mounting so you can put it next to the skimmer transducer

The Side Imaging and Structure Scan frequencies do not penetrate thru hull's well at all. A standard transducer can be mounted to shoot thru hull but the sonar results will be poor at best. Humminbird did this and found that variations in different hulls could bend the signal greatly distoring the images and max sensitivity was needed for any detail to show. Do a search on bass boat central for pictures of shoot thru hull side imaging. It was early this year they posted it.

Humminbird does have a transducer SI that is more of a flush mount it has a 1" treaded end that you drill a hole in hull to mount it with a nut on inside and wires go through.
