I have fished Boy lake on and off for almost 20 years. I have found that it is a very good walleye lake perhaps one of the best in the state. It is also a very good crappie and bass lake. The lake has a large population of all types of fish. It also has an unknown population of muskies. 15-20 years ago a fifty plus pound state record class fish was found dead floating in the lake. This lake is a hot lake to fish in may and june and sept and oct for walleyes. This is a lake where the fish are always biting on one pattern or another.

Like the other posts said it has all species in it. We were up there for the ealpout fest and fished boy 1 day and slammed the jumbo perch, ( 7ft of water).

My family and I fished it for about 16 years. We always caught quite a few fish, but we were always looking for another lake to fish also. The lake is under control of the corps of engineers the way we understand it, and they seemed to fluctuate the water levels at times. Like I said, we always caught quite a few fish, and it was very nice not putting up with large boats cruising the lake, but we finally decided to find a new lake. Good luck.

I can't see how you could possibly go wrong purchasing land anywhere in the longville area. There are a ton of good lakes in that area.
I find Boy lake to be one of best all species lakes in that area. It's hard to find lakes like this, with big Bluegills and real nice eyes. You can head over to nearby Mann for something different. There is an excellent pop. of Smallies in Mann. Or Jump across to Baby lake, for Muske.
It's a win win situation around there. I guess what I'm saying is... Go for it!!!
