Boys im new to Baitcasters! Actually i had one but it ended up in the lake cause it backlashed so much! Since ive got my Trophey walleye im starting to venture into new species of fish. Mainly Striper and Muskie. I want a bait caster for lots of reasons. All my equipment is Stradics, Sustains, with St.Croix rods. I naturally went for the Calcutta as the reputation is superb. Any one give me some info on the Calcutta, how easy are they now to cast etc. Ill be using this for casting cranks (7"-14") spinners, live bait trolling or ballon fishing! Thanks

I've had mine for three years, and it is a joy. Workmanship is excellent, workings are as smooth as silk. One thing though, if BIG muskies are your target, get one of the larger sizes. I've got the 250, and I burned the drag out on a 20lb stingray, which is probably comparable to a 40lb 'lunge. Keep 'em wet, Mike. PS, I just bought a Stradic, haven't used it yet, impressions?

Stradics? I love them. Got several and recomend them to every avid angler! Well if you want to spend that kind of money! Smooth as Babys But though. Drag as with every shimano is superb. Got a 13lb walleye on the 1000 ultra light and had no problems. Ill probably go with the Calcutta 400. Thanks and GOOD FISHING!!!
