I would like to install 2 electric downriggers on my Lund 2025. I have never installed or owned downriggers before. I'm not sure what my options really are for this boat. I have the sport track system. I really don't want to have to drill on the boat too much if other options are available. I'm considering Scotty, Cannon, or Big Jon. Anyone have any suggestions on what downriggers to choose and how to install them on a Lund 2025?

Does anyone who has a system similar to this have any pictures you can share?

Thanks so much for the help!

Lund makes a mounting system that fits onto the sport-trak system. If you contact your Lund dealer they can order the mounts for you. I have them for my Explorer SS. You can mount any brand of riggers on these. I have Penn riggers on mine, they work great.

BTW those Sport-trak mounts aren't cheap.

I mounted several on the tops of the gunwhales on Pro-Vs.
There is laminate backing in most areas under the gunwhales.

Thanks guys. I thought the sport track system might have a downrigger mount, but wasn't sure how sturdy it would be. I guess the options are to directly mount them to the gunwhales or get a sport track mount.

Any idea on how much the sport track mounts run?

I can't recall the cost. But I can tell you, the Brackets designed for the ProV gunwhales are very sturdy.
But, it is probably cheaper and easier to mount on top of the gunwhale deck.

If I remember correctly, they were right around $40 back in '07.
