Has anyone done any fishing with swimbaits for walleye? If so...suggestions - day/night, type of day, temp, size etc... I have been thinking of investing in some swimbaits but don't want to spend a lot of money for nothing... Thinking about that..thats a silly statement considering that I have a locker full of rods and bags of baits..

I'm not a walleye fisherman (bass are my primary target) but this fall/winter I've had good success throwing big (6" - 8") swimbaits like the Huddleston Deluxe trout (both 6" and 8") and the Spro BBZ-1 trout for big walleyes that come into the shallows at night to stalk trout. I'm looking forward to trying these in the spring when (1) the lakes thaw and (2) the 'eyes are going into their spring feeding binge.
Here's a picture of a 30" fish that took a liking to an 8" Huddleston trout (ROF5).
