Hi,
Quite a time back I bought a number of Shad Raps and I was trolling in water from 7 to 15 ft and I did real good with them .Now I troll in the Western & Central Basin and I dont use them any more. What I want to know is Were,How and at what speed do you guys use them.I have seen a lot of Posts that say they are their favorite lure.I have also seen they use them for Coho too.I just want to know more ways of fishing them.

Shad Raps are my go to bait. I pull them behind boards, lead core, snap wieghs and bottom bouncers. Something else I have started doing in rivers with the #5's and 7's deep diving is to use lead or a three way to stay in contact with the bottom with minimal line out.
I can get a #5 hitting bottom in 12-15 foot of water with 30 feet of line out.
You can use Shad Raps any where there is shad as forage. They have an action that seems to produce fish all year long. Also if tuned correctly you can troll at higher speeds, 2-3 mph.
I know some guys who do well using the #9's on Green Bay in the fall.
I have had good succes all year long on many different bodies of water.

Good luck,
Scott

You should use them! They've got to be the most consistent bait I've used in my life.I can say they produce spring summer fall and winter.Trolling is the best, they just don't cast so good.I've docktored some floater's,but haven't tried these as a docktored bait.A 3-way is a jewel, and flat line them in summer,at dusk,it's dynomite!
