Ice reports are varying between 7"- 11" with the thickest ice being out from the Farmers Beach access. Several hard shacks are already placed in that area, pulled out by 4 wheelers. Snow cover is patchy with much of the ice exposed. The Little Lake is attracting quite a few anglers in portable shacks. Deeper water is a short walk out from Mcintosh Park, Lynn Lorenze Park or the Grade since the dredging has been completed in the Little Lake. Just in the last couple days, anglers have been reporting good catches of yellow bass along with a few walleyes and crappies. The majority of anglers are fishing in 6 - 10' of water with minnows or waxworms. Northland Forage Minnows and Buckshot Rattle Spoons are two of the most popular lures.
The weather for this weekend is calling for highs in the upper 20's with winds 10 - 15 mph out of the N or NW. There is a 20 -30% chance of light snow for both Saturday and Sunday.
