I have a LCX 25 on the console and a 102 up front. I would really like gps up front as well as at the console.

Since the HD units are out I think I can get a LCX 113 fairly reasonable. Put the LCX 25 up front and the LCX 113 on the console. Can't sell the 102, I bought the ice fishing kit for it and would not go back to a flasher.

Please give me the good, bad and the ugly on the 113. I am a multi decade veteran of dealing with Lowrance's support so I know that part going in.

I don't need the absolute latest (but I don't need problems either) and have been happy with the 25.

From a operational standpoint is the 113 as good as the 25.

I would get another 25 but I have used a big screen just enough to really want one.

Any info will be appreciated.

Thanks

Same as the 25 but with a big screen, a hard drive, very nice built in
detail charts and Ethernet networking. Same operating system as the 25.
Screen size makes the 25 look tiny. I had an LCX26 with a hard drive.
Never the first problem.
If you know how to use the 25 then you will know how to use the 113.
Can't think of anything bad to say about the 113. It was the top of the
line model before the HDS10. I would like to have one.

Excellent unit!! I've had mine for a year/half and have loved it. I've had zero issues with it and the 10" screen is wonderful! As much as I love it though, I am in the process of switching over to the 10" HDS w/structure scan because it does sooooooooooooooo much more! If you get a 113, new or used (in good shape) you'll love it!!

couldn't agree more. The LCX 113 is a great unit. I have one at the console and a 520 up front. I'm going to get another 113 for the front. Like you, I'm hoping that with the HD units out, I should be able to pick up a 113 relatively cheap.

If anything, you may like the 113C better than the 25c because there have been more recent software updates for the 113c to make the sounder work better in shallow, weedy water conditions.

IIRC, production of the 113c stopped at least a year ago, so the biggest challenge may be finding a new-in-box unit, if that's what you want. Hope you know that people who bought new-in-box, but non-current Lowrance units in 2009 reported some trouble getting decent turnaround time on warranty repairs- there are some recent threads on this.
