I am installing a lowrance 334cigps on my lund,it already has a bird 585c .I think I will get interferance from the two ducers mounted on the ducer board on the transom so any input would be great.

You will get interferance. One or the other will pick up the return sound wave that was broadcast by the other. Mine showed up as dark lines vertical on display. I just use mapping on one and sonar on the other(in other words, I don't use split screen or both units on sonar). Is the 585 a sonar only? If so, just designate it and run GPS on the other. Another option is to add a ducer board on the other side of the transom, and hoping that the separation is far enough. Anothe option is a Thru-the-hull towards the front of the boat. How do thru-the-hulls work on metal boats?

Can you just make one for gps and one for depth?

That's an idea, I didn't know that was option. What are the downsides to doing that? Depth limitations, clarity, Or strenght of image? I'd like to know how it works for you> I guess thru-the -hull won't work on aluminum,Huh?

well installed the two ducers side by side and no problems ,clear as a bell and fun to see thetwo units at the same time,,both worked really well .pretty much even as far as picking stuff up and clarity :rockit:
