Been sitting in my new Ranger, high and dry, dreaming what she's going to be like on the water. Looking in the bait well, what do you do with the minnows? Just turn-em loose in there. I need to be fishing instead of chasing bait! My old Lund had a bait bucket sitting inside the bait well. My dealer gave me a mesh bag, thought it was for leaches but maybe its for minnows. Not sure i'm going to like opening a soft bag with a velcro seal and getting it closed right so the buggers can't get out. Whats everyone do?

The mesh bag is for your minnows. Works fine, opens and closes very easy, and the top of the bag seems to stay up at the top of the bait well, so if the the velcro top doesnt close all of the way, the minnows dont really get out!!

I have a '04 621 and found that the Plano 200 minnow bucket will fit the front baitwell perfectly. They dont make this bucket anymore but some small bait dealers still have them in stock. You take the insert and take the top off. Cut the lobes off that the handle went on and it fits perfect. My opening for baitwell is about 9" but is not perfectly round. Check all your bait dealers and see if they have this bucket and give it a try. Sure makes it nice and easy to get ur bait. Good luck.

After driveway trolling for three months and thinking I'm not going to like the bait well, I finally got to try it out. You know what, it works great. Grab the bag, pull it up, minnows are high and dry, grab one let go of bag it sinks to the bottom and like rangerpig said, you really don't have to close the bag cause it stays at the top. Whew, alot of worrying over nothing.
