With all you techno geeks out there, is there any way possible to down load the 09 canada chip onto my 06 canada chip. Just about all the lakes are on the 06 how much more room would a few more lakes take up? It seem just a huge waste of money buying an 09 chip when you have an 06 with just about all the lake that 09 has.

You probably can download it. It just won't work. You run the risk of trashing the 09 data if done incorrectly.

Thats why they are called SD "secure digital" cards.

I agree that copying would probably ruin the disc. My question is, can you tell me what is different from the 06 disk to the 09?

the only differnce I can see is that there are more lakes down loaded on the 09 disk vs the 06 disk. And unfortunalty my group has traved to the lakes that are not cover by the 06 chip.

Take advantage of Navionic's trade-in program to update your 2006 chip to the latest data available. Save you a few bucks...

The rebate deal may have expired, but the trade in deal is still valid.

That's correct, the Navionic's Trade-In program is in place for 2010. You can still save a few bucks and update your charts.

Navionics is starting to ship 2010 product this week. The HotMaps North region will be shipping shortly, don't have a firm date yet. Great lakes area products should be on the way to retailers.
