When I purchased my 997SI, the dim function never did dim completely. I didn't find this out until we bought one for our dive team to assist in our search and recovery.
I sent the unit in on Dec 17th. Received a phone call on the 22nd saying it was out of warranty but would be covered anyway. Received the unit back on the 28th.
I coudn't imagine what the turn around would be if I didn't do this over Christmas.

I regulary contact Joby or Eddie at Humminbird concerning the operation of my 987. If I E-mail either one of them I usually have an answer back in 30 minutes. I recently had downloaded a new update for the bird but could not get the unit to reboot back up. I call Eddie and he had me Fed-Ex it to him on a Monday, he received it on Tuesday morning and I had it back on Wednesday morning. I will never buy nothing but a bird.

Good to hear Humminbird takes care of those who spent hard earned money on their products.
