Hey guys I've never used these before. I just bought 6 of the little rippers. Do these baits have a slow, moderate, or high action? What time of year do they work best?

my man at the bait shop told me that he "rips" these lures from a vertical position at the side of the boat then lets it fall before ripping again...its been told to me that the walleyes will hit this lure on the way going down after a rip so its extremely important to hold on tight and be ready to set the hook in a matter of seconds...timing is everything...good luck...I'd use lighter colors in daylight hours and darker colors in the evening...good luck! I'm trying them this spring myself....:howdy:

If your talking about the Reef Runner little rippers
I fish them on Erie all year long.
I use the deep little ripper and target the depth (2" above) that I'm marking fish
In the spring and fall it's 1.2 and as the water warms up I speed up
1.6 to 1.8 max in the summer

There a great lure in any color that you might need
I also troll the larger 800's as well

I doubt we will cast these any. We don't hardly ever cast cranks just troll them. From ice off till the water warms up some do u think reef runners or stick baits like rogues, floating minnows, and husky jerks would be more effective?
