I'm new on the board, it looks like there is a ton of information here. I'm down in Oklahoma and we're not quiet froze in yet. Looks like it could happen any day though.

Welcome to the site. A lowrance pro stafer is good to have. BUT a rep from Lowrance would be better. There seems to be a lot of complaints lately and it would be nice to have somebody explain their policy.

Well I will admit that I've been lurking on here for a short while. I'm a full time guide in Oklahoma and I'm based out of Tulsa. I have the good fortune to be one of the pro staffers that train store sales associates and other pro staffers on new products. All that means is that I have contacts there in sales and customer support. I helped resolve a lingering issue for one of the WC members today. I can't promise to get results quickly every time but I'm game to help when I can. Keep in mind though that I'm just a small businessman and I don't get a check from Lowrance every two weeks. I'm just an avid fisherman like the rest of you.

Steve,

Good to have you aboard. I have been using Lowrance products for a lot of years (25 - 30 or so) and overall had good success. Some time ago I sent a message to the Lowrnace Support web site recommending that they monitor this board closely and proactively address some of the issues being brought up. It think they have some great products and have suffered through the acquisition challenges with NAVICO. The combined technologies of the two companies should bring great benefits to us fisherfolks.

Thanks for being here, and as with all of us we learn a lot.

Paul

Thanks for the compliment on the Striper. I got that one a few years ago in Tenn.
Catsneyes, I'll be at the Lowrance table for the Albers show on Jan. 30 in Pittsburg. Stop by and say hi if you're there.

Another striper fisherman. My recommendation to Scott is to rename the board Striper Central.

What lake did you catch that striper on? I plan on going out to Tennessee for Spring Break 2011.

I got that one in the upper end of Cordell Hull. Drifting that river below Cordell Hull Dam with live Skipjack Herring in the spring time could get you a 50 lb. class Striper. Good luck.

So how big is that striper that you are holding? I scouted out Cordell Hull and the Cumberland River last summer. I figure that is the place with the best percentage for monster stripers.

That one went 44. It is still my personal best. It took a 12 inch "Skippy" behind a planer board.

Are the skippies fairly easy to catch and find? Can you catch ones bigger than 12?

Catching Skippies is a lot of fun, You catch them on light tackle and small jigs. They are like fresh water Tarpon. They go crazy when hooked. They are very hard to keep alive. I use double salt in my tank and supplement it with O2. You usually have to get bait twice a day. Once in the morning and then after lunch. Yes they get bigger than 12 inches.
