Midwest dealer Crystal-Pierz Marine has sold its boat dealerships to Tracker Marine Group, according to published reports.

A spokesman for the company did not immediately return calls this morning. No one from Crystal-Pierz could be reached for comment this morning, and the dealer's Web site had been shut down.
In July 2008, Crystal-Pierz Marine announced it was closing half of its 12 stores and laying off two-thirds of its employees in reaction to the "softest marine market in more than 40 years."
The Minneapolis-based company announced it will close 60 percent of its stores and lay off about 100 employees. Cuts in the parts and service department were effective immediately, while sales positions will be eliminated following a liquidation sale.
At that time, the company closed stores in Rogers, Minn.; Forest Lake, Minn.; St. Cloud, Minn.; Duluth, Minn.; Lake Mille Lacs in Mille Lacs, Minn.; and Clear Lake, Iowa.
The Tracker Marine Group, whose line include Tracker, Mako and Tahoe, sells its boats at more than 50 Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Boat Center locations throughout North America and at hundreds of independent dealers worldwide.
