Humminbird has worked hard over the past couple of months since first announcing Down Imaging and we have been able to overcome the issues with 797 memory capabilities and we are going to be releasing 797 software that does contain Down Imaging capabilities.

Kudos to Hummingbird. :rockit:
The fact that they went to the extra effort to provide and undate to a unit that is no longer in production AND had to work harder cuz of memory restrictions says a lot about supporting the customers.
I have a unit from the competition that has known problem with shallow water and weeds. I bought the unit new from a major sporting goods company, and am stuck with a poorly working unit. Newer units got updates which means that they know how to fix the problem.
Potential customers like to know they will be taken care of in a fair way. Forcing people fork over the money to "trade up" to fix known problems isn't a great policy in my opinion.

Downloaded mine today. Took the chip and uploaded on both my units. Can't wait for spring to try it out.
Also Lakemaster chips can be used with the upgrade.
