Hi

The bite on Mille Lacs has been "hit-or-miss" so far this week - we're seeing some folks catching limits of "keeper walleye" and others merely hitting a few small perch. The most obvious factor to their degree of success has been mobility. If you can get away from the big groups of houses, your odds for a walleye dinner improve dramatically. The warmer weather being forecasted for the coming weekend should allow folks to move around in relative comfort. Most of the walleye are hitting small jigging spoons ( Willow spoon, Slender Spoon, Hawger spoon) tipped with a piece of minnow during the daylight hours. Through the overnight a shiner on a glow jig is still the best. Some of the better spots this week include Dean's Flat, Seguchie Flat and 4 mile Gravel. Perch reports have been best from the Tundra/Graveyard area - again, small spoons are the ticket although I'd tip them with a gob of waxies or Eurolarva.

Once again this winter we will be renting FL20's, power augers and underwater cameras. Be sure to reserve them ahead to assure availability.

Finally, A man observed a sign in the window of a restaurant that read Unique Breakfast, so he walked in and sat down. The waitress brought him his coffee and asked him what he wanted. "What's your Unique Breakfast?" he asked. "Baked tongue of chicken!" she proudly replied. "Baked tongue of chicken? Baked tongue of chicken! Do you have any idea how disgusting that is? I would never even consider eating anything that came out of a chicken's mouth!" he fumed. Undaunted, the waitress asked, "What would you like, then?" "Just bring me a hard boiled egg," the man replied.

Have a great weekend,
