Hi;

I bought one of thier ten footers years ago and I use a 2 or 4 pound line and have exellent results. The thing is I wish it were shorter but the darn thing is alot of fun but working with ten foot in the wind is sure a tricky thing to do.

I like the idea of the shorter rod on the microlight, well looking it over in the medium action there was less tip wag in the 7ft to 7.5 When fishing out of a boat the longer rods can be a bit of a hassle when it's fast and furious a tip wrap cab be a nightmare after awhile. With the light action it seemed to be a bit of a noodle, proably a great rod for biting load though. Rig a spinning reel to my 10ft flr rod years ago and laying that thing across the boat got old in a hurry and as for proping anything that top heavy against the gunnels ;( The next new Crappie rod will catch alot of walleyes though.

PSST HEH Buddy ahh this is a Walleye site, doubt Scott has much time to put into Crappie Central. Heh Scott?

I don't know anything about these rods, but I cast to crappies with 1/16 and 1/32oz. tube jigs using 6'6" ultralite rod with 4# test and it works for me. I suppose a 7 or 8' rod would get you out a little further, but I can easily stay off the fish and cast to them with what I'm using. As to going with lite vs. ultralite, the ultralite will get you out further with a little more "whippy" tip. hope this helps.
