:'( what anchor do you use to hold you in pretty good wind

Vern.
Heres some good advice, unless your fishing in a snaggy bottom area. By snaggy, I mean downed trees and such. Other wise, buy yourself 5 feet of medium heavy chain and attach it ahead of your anchor. This allows it to dig straight in to any bottom type properly in both deep water and windy conditions. I used to have problems holding on the St.Claire River, while whippin pencil plugs in 23 feet of water, 12 knot current and hard clay bottom. The chain solved the whole problem. Capt: Dan.

I have a 16 ft lund and I use an anchor for a 45ft boat. I use that big of an anchor just to be sure. There is nothing more frusterating than an anchor that won't grab.

Bob,
Try the chain idea. You would not belive how small the anchor is I use on the St. Calire River. Capt: Dan.

I use a Richter anchor with about 4 feet of chain. Holds me anywhere.

SET the hook!!!

We've had very good luck holding in large waves/wind with a Richter anchor.

Hi,
I got ahold of a Commerical Net anchor. It was 3' long and I made a Protype from it 2' long and rigged it with a release and it works in sand ,gravel, clay.It only weighs about 5lbs.

Two 25 pound Navy anchors. One at the bow, one at the stern.
