Splitter for using VHF radio antenna for stereo

Has anyone ever used anything like this? I don't want to mount an antenna for my stereo anywhere, and I don't use the vhf much at all... but of course don't want to disconnect it. Would like to see it before buying it, and of course would prefer to buy locally or support someone who maybe is on this site or a sponser for WC. Anyone ever seen this at a radio shack or something place like that?

They make "wire" am/fm antenna that stays under your dash. I had one on my old boat and it worked great. Cost about $5.

Save your money and trouble and buy a retractable antenna for your boat.

When I bought my last boat, I purchased a retractable antenna that retracts flush into the gunnel.

I seldom use the stereo, but if I need it, I can extend the antenna a full 54 inches and have excellent reception for the few times that I want to use the radio.

I had a short rubber ducky antenna - 18 inches long on the previous boat and often times the reception was very poor. Also, the reception on the short wires under the dash of friends boats was poor.

I have also seen issues with Vhf radios and systems when the splitter is used with the radio.
