Apparently we caught to many perch last year or not enough. It has been decided to allow the netters a higher quota this year. I believe by 30%.(may not be exact). Us fisherman still have a 30 fish limit. Also to make matters worse the port authorities are on strike there (Canada) so there will be nobody to enforce any quota's anyhow.
Airwave, I was trolling about 12 miles out last year and I saw a boat bringing in a net so I thought maybe if I trolled around him I may pick up some fish. I got within a half mile and I couldn't believe my eyes. There was a blanket of perch on the top of the water for about a mile in radius. I guess thy are only alowed to keep perch over 8". That day, even though it may have been against the law, I netted over 1000 perch. These guys are wasing a lot of fish. Even though they are only allowed to keep fish over 8" all the others die. I think there is only one guy in Ohio that is allowed to net fish so that is a relief, but that day there were probably 10,000 dead perch floating in thew water.

Not sure it would have done any good but sure wish you had a video camera on board that day. Might be some good ammunition for our case. But I doubt it. They have to know whats going on. Email me Bob at Bcombs3@woh.rr.com
