I would like to know if there is any interest in a state by state listing for boat ramps on a permanent site here on WC. I realize that bait shops, hardware stores, and gas stations often know where these are. But, I also know that I get into an area, at times, earlier than the stores open up, or, I talk to some new kid that doesn't know as much as the owner might.

I am suggesting a state by state, city by city listing that would be updated by anglers, like you and me. For example, I live on Lake Superior at Ashland, Wisconsin and I would be glad to list the ramps that are within several miles of Ashland and what their capacity and quality are. How many times have you seen a ramp marked on a map only to find out it's a shallow, sand entry. Of course, not every city would have an entry until WC made it into the homes of walleye anglers in every city and town. But, I do think more information would be better than little information and at least we would have an idea what ramps would be better used by walleye anglers.

This is something like it would look:

Illinois
......Albany: Directions, concrete ramp, deep water.
......New Boston: Directions, paved ramp, dock, shallow, ample parking.
Minnesota:
......Baudette: Directions, dirt landing, dock, parking for only 5 rigs.
......Dresbach: Directions, paved, ample parking, bathrooms.
......Red Wing: Directions, paved, no dock, parking for 15 rigs.

Wisconsin:
......Ashland: US Highway 2 and 13 at 11th Ave. W. Paved, Shallow, Parking for 50 rigs, no bathrooms.
......Ashland: Prentice Ave. off Lakeshore Dr. Paved, Adequate water depth, Camping, Bathrooms
......LaCrosse: Directions, Paved, Poor parking, no bathrooms, etc.
......Washburn: Directions, Paved, Ample parking, bathrooms, camping.

Perhaps, some computor genius could format a page to do a "fill in the blank" form. If enough interest were shown I really think it could happen. Please post your thoughts.
Regards,
Tom Moe

I think that'd be a --HUGE-- addition to Walleye Central!

The software already exists out there somewhere. I belong to an on-line RVers club and they have an on-line ability for us to make reports on campgrounds and RV parks. Then other can go to the site and query by state, getting a list of campgrounds in that state that have been reviewed by others.

SET the hook!!!

Below is the site, for those who want ideas on how to do it.
