Trolling with a 1992-150 hp Force in lieu of a kicker motor? 20 ft. boat.
Will this do motor damage? (600 rpm is just about right - speed wise) Motor may carbon up and will certainly use more gas than the preferred alternatives, but I can buy a lot of gas for what a motor will cost) - I just don't want to buy a NEW large motor at this time!
I happen to be one of the lucky ones with a 1992 Force that has served me well. Good care and luck has been part of the equation - doing what I'm suggesting here could put an end to what has been a good motor.
My boat will not accept a kicker well. I don't expect to do this a alot but a "little" may be too much.
All thoughts are appreciated.

Absolutely not. It will not hurt your motor. You should be able to troll all day on the big motor. I would suggest switching to Amsoil and you will greatly reduce carbon build up,plus protect the internal parts greatly. If not be sure to run a Carbon Free product. FISH ON!
i have a 1997 force 40 hp that i used for trolling before i got my kicker and like you maybe i,m lucky but my force has served me well and its not because i baby it cause beleive me i don,t, never had a problem useing it for trolling but i didn,t troll as much as a lot of the guys do, my advice would be to try it and if the motor starts behaving like it hasn,t in the past than stop, i got my kicker so i could fish the hp restricted lakes and the price was way to good to pass it up but before that i did troll with the bigger motor.

I hear about Amsoil alot on this board. I thought this stuff was only for crankcase applications, your saying it is also a good 2-stroke oil?

So you guys all say this stuff is the ticket? How much and where you guys buy this stuff? I always hate starting my motor when it is so cold out knowing how gummy/thick that oil is.

I see you get it off thier website.
A gallon of 10W30 syn. is $22.30.
Not too shabby, I dont think. Gonna check around to see if its available locally.

You can either go to the online store on the above link or go to this link to find your nearest dealer. And no I am not a dealer or associated with the product in any manner, just answering your questions. I have not used it yet, but was researching it today and will try it after all the positive post I have read. Hope this helps.

I'm going by memory, but I think the Owner's manual indicated to NOT use a synthetic oil.
Opinions?
Also, not sure I want to try this and if the motor acts differently stop - seems that might be too late unless just carbon build up.

Also in the 2 stroke application you only use it 100 to 1 so you get more out of it. No it does not void warrantys. Yes I sell it and no I'm not trying to sell it to you. I don't care where you buy it just try it. It'll sell itself. If you would like to talk about it call 419-734-3412 9-5 Mon.-Fri. Talk to Tim
