There's a local marine going out of buisness so i picked up round foam thingys with there logos. Is there a way to fashion up my own side guide ons to slip these suckers over? I found these in 40inch they also come in 60 inch.

You could make them from PVC although I would question the longevity if your intent is to help with loading in current or wind.
I would opt for something made from heavy galv conduit / pipe or something on that order instead.

no
they would act like a big rubber band
pvc is way too flexible for this
You can use pvc for the exterior, but run a steel pipe through the pvc to add strength. I have seen them this way and the pvc on the outside protects the boat from damage.

I made a set that looks just like the link you gave above. mine didn't have lights but would be easy enough to put in. The key is you have that metal bracket that attaches to the frame. It probably runs 15-18 inches up through the pvc. I ran a bolt through the pvc and the bracket because the pvc tubes would pop off when i would put the trailer in (pvc doesn't float). They have been very durable and cheap. I've used them for several years and havent replaced them yet.
