Anyone out there with a Terrova 101? My 07 2025 came with a Terrova 80..no auto pilot..seriously considering the 101 with the new I pilot.
Would like to hear some pro and con about this.

thanks...Tom.

That's what I run...Terrova 101, US2, i-Pilot.

Couldn't be happier!

What would you like to know?

Cons: You will never buy another trolling motor without the autopilot. Kidding aside. They don't always work in a stiff breeze.

As I remember looking into the battery situation..I have room for a third battery...but looking at all thoes wires running out of the two...how difficult is it going to be going to 36 volt? I am sure... but not certain other electronics are running off those two front batteries, it appears to me that I am opening a whole can of worms here. On my old boat I knew where most all my wires ran cause I put most of them there running power to added electronics. This lund has a fuse box and I am not sure where it is powered from...main back or two front. So if I go to 36 volt I am going to have to be sure i keep all 12 volt seperate. Maybe I am making this too difficult but I want to plan ahead in case I decide to go 36 volt.

Tom.

I Have A 101 Terrova 36 Volt With AP.
I Have The 36 Volt Bank Feed My Minnkota
And MY 9.9 Pro Kicker Remote,But To Feed
My Kicker The 36 Volts Comming Out Of The
36 Volt Bank Goes To An Isolator To Transform
The Voltage Down To 12 Volts To Start It And
Trim It.

Everything Else Is Powered With 2 Optimas Paralled
Seperatly. This Works Very Well.Another Thing You Are
Going To Have To Think About Is A 4 Bank Charger To
Charge All 5 Optimas.

Good Luck Pm Me If You Have Any More Questions.

If it were me and I already had the Terrova and it's functioned well for me, I'd just buy the iPilot for it, install it and forget the added expense of buying a new TM, battery, charger etc! In other words, if the 80# Terrova has been working well for you, save yourself some money and just buy the iPilot for it and your good to go! Just my 2 cents!

Good point Hawker...it sure would be a bunch cheaper and I would have the new i-pilot technology ready to go. I sure miss the remote control my old minny had.

Thanks guys for the thoughts on this.

Last year was the first year I used Terrova 101 with AP ( or any electric motor with AP, for that matter). I have no idea how I fished all those years without one. It's like having another guy in the boat that doesn't take up any space. Two of my buddies have the 80, and their batteries seem to run out of juice about mid-day. I can go all day, and still have 25-50% of juice when I come off the water. That's trolling at 1.5 mph or less.

I have a Terrova 80#/ US and adding I-Pilot this spring, by far the best TM I've used. I have 2 Optima Batteries for the Terrova and I can run it all day (8/9 hours) and still have plenty of power left, at trolling speed from 1.0 to 1.7mph. I have my Optima batteries hooked up to Cabeal's Pro Sports-2, 20 amp on board charger and the first thing I do after returning from fishing is plug in the charger. My buddy has the Power Drive 2-55# with a Optima battery and him & his wife fish 7/8 hour most times out and the Optima still has plenty of juice to keep fishing if they'd like.

If your fishing in any kind of current the Terrova 101 36-volt is the way to go. I stayed with the 101 on my new boat and I have never run out of power. Sometimes on short drifts you don't want to fire the motor and the 101 will take you back upstream in a hurry.
